Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Metrology Design Engineer to lead the development and optimization of advanced metrology systems, including CMM’s, IPC Gauges, and Lab Equipment. In this role, you will design, validate, and implement measurement solutions that ensure precision and accuracy for our manufacturing and research processes.
Responsibilities (Summary)
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of novel metrology hardware and software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance to define metrology requirements.
- Develop geometric and measurement models to optimize system performance.
- Analyze measurement data, troubleshoot issues, and improve existing metrology processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality specifications.
- Document design processes, validation procedures, and calibration protocols.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in designing and developing metrology systems or instruments.
- Strong knowledge of measurement principles, calibration techniques, and metrology standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
- Experience with optical, laser, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), laser scanners, IPC Guages, Lab Equipment technologies.
- Familiarity with software development related to measurement systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts effectively.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of ISO13485
- Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, or precision manufacturing industries
- Knowledge of automation and robotics integration in measurement systems
- Publications or patents related to Metrology solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
